An Extra Long Entry for a Busy Day

Day 11: Downeast Maine (Day 2)
Route: Frenchman Bay Retreat - Acadia Nat'l Park - Southwest Harbor - Frenchman Bay Retreat
Distance Traveled: Just enough to get around :)

We started the day with breakfast and hot chocolate on the deck...

On to Acadia!
First stop: Bear Brook Picinic Area...

Second stop: Sand Beach...

We made it...too bad we didn't bring our swimsuits!

Wow, that's cold!

After dipping my feet in the frigid water I can't imagine actually swimming there!

Time for some dinner!

We headed down to Southwest Harbor because the girls fell asleep in the car after their busy day of exploring. Mommy thought her choice ended up being a dud...I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

 But, Lily enjoyed her fish 'n chips...

 And Emma couldn't get enough of my lobster stew so I guess it wasn't all bad...

A quick stop to check out a local swimming spot...

Very pretty and the water was much warmer than the ocean. We'll have to stop by again for a swim.

Today's Activities: Hot chocolate with a view, A picnic lunch, Testing the waters at Sand Beach, An afternoon of hiking and exploring...watch out world, here comes Lily the rock climber!, A mixed review dinner (thumbs way down for mommy, but thumbs up for the girls...daddy will eat anything :), A stop by Blunts Pond, Spotted 2 deer in the driveway of our house (mommy was too slow with the camera), Firefly watching before bed.
