Then an unplanned stop at Howe Caverns...

| We took an hour and a half tour of the caverns. |

| Lily really liked the cave... Emma liked the first 20 minutes.... |

| then napped (while mommy & daddy carried her) for the next hour... |

| and then liked the last 10 minutes :) |

| The tour involved walking a 1/2 mile into the cavern, taking a boat ride along a cavern waterway, and walking a 1/2 mile back. We know Lily really liked it becuase she didn't complain a single time about having to walk :) |

| Us at the bridal alter (several hundred weddings have actually taken place in the caves :) Legend says that if you are married already and step on the heart you'll enjoy a 2nd honeymoon, if you are of marrying age but single you'll marry within the year, and if you are not of marrying age you'll have good luck :) |

Today's Activities: Breakfast at our Inn where we met the owners' adorable dogs (the puppy stole a bite of Emmalin's waffle right out of her hand, but she didn't mind :), A stop at Ommegang Brewery where daddy sampled the beer and we all enjoyed a lunch of gourmet crepes, An unplanned stop at Howe Caverns (a great tour for a 4 year old and a great nap place for a 2 year old...the cave stays a constant 55 degrees with 70-75 % humidity, proving again that Emmalin can sleep anywhere), A quick bite to eat at one of the Travel Plazas, a good night's sleep in Andover, MA after arriving at 10:30pm.
Road tripping has been fun but we are looking forward to staying in the same place in Maine for more than a couple days.

ReplyDeleteWe really didn't give Emmalin any of the beer...although there have been times on the trip that it may have been helpful! She seems really determined to sleep through just about every interesting thing we do on the trip (just wait until you see the next one :)...it is going to make an interesting photo montage. Funny that she stopped napping at home about 5 months ago and now we can't keep her awake!
